The terms Data Controller, Data Processor, Data Subject and Personal Data have the meaning given to them in the UK Data Protection Legislation.

Our Role as a Data Processor

For the purposes of the Data Protection Legislation, Locale is a Data Processor, which means we process personal data on behalf of our customers. Our customers (the property management company or the property developers) remain the Data Controller for personal data processed via the portal we provide to you. They trust us to process data about you - their tenants or residents and other visitors to their site. We can only process personal data in accordance with their instructions and their purposes.

Who is the Data Controller?

The organisation which engaged Locale to provide this portal to their employees, residents, and tenants. They have determined the purposes for which your personal data will be processed, and we enable this to take place through our portal software for the duration of our contract with them, and an agreed period after contract expiry.

Locale can only process the personal data in accordance with instructions given by our Customers (the property developers or property management company) and for the purposes identified by them. We will notify you if the services you choose involve personal data being shared with partner companies.

You may have been pre-registered to your building portal with personal information provided by your building teams. If this is the case, you will have received an email notification inviting you to activate your portal account. If you choose not to register, your account will remain inactive on the portal.
